Least Favorite Poem:

Michelle:

My least favorite poem is "Mowing" I think it is a very hard poem to follow and I don't seem to like the meaning that comes out of this poem. It seems to have a supernatural feel to it that you cannot relate to. I also do not like the set up either, I like when poems have multiple stanzas so you can see when one comment is finished and where the next one begins. Robert Frost also uses vocabulary that is difficult to understand and you would have to take time to look it up and see the true meaning of the words.

Amanda: My least favorite poem would be Fragmentary Blue by Robert Frost. Not only is it very hard to understand the overall meaning of this poem, but it does not flow well at all. I don't know if there even is a meaning to this poem. I don't like poems that you have to read 20 times to just start to understand it, and this poem is definitely one of those. It has two stanza's that don't' have any relevancy to each other. The first stanza could be a poem itself and the second could be a whole different poem. This poem has no meaning. It is dead to me.

Michelle:

The Road not Taken Is my Favorite poem due to the fact you can compare it to real life. In this poem he is describing how is he at a fork in the road and cannot decide which one he wants to go down to and he decides finally which way to go thinking he may get this chance again. But when he truly starts thinking about it he will never have that opportunity again. This poem relates to many people every has to eventually pick which road they want to take in life and you better pick the best one because you will never have this chance again. I also like the set up of the poem; he uses four different stanzas with five lines in each. When poets set up poems such as a way like this I makes for an easier read, not everything runs together between the lines.

Amanda:

My favorite poem would have to be the poem "Birches". I really like this poem for a variety of reason. Number one, i like the structure of how the poem was set up, in two different stanza's. Number two, i really like how the poem flows. It never has any awkward moments or weird pauses. Number three, Frost describes everything very well. I love that I can image everything he is talking about. I get a very good idea of what is going on and what he's trying to say. Number four, I have a really hard time understanding a lot of poetry, and this poem isn't super easy to understand, but you don't have to read it 10 times before you understand it.
